We review every ad before it runs to keep Status Is Down useful and trustworthy. We may reject, pause or remove any ad at our discretion.
Ads must
- Be accurate and clearly come from the advertiser
- Link to a working page that matches the ad
- Use content you have the rights to (logos, images, trademarks)
- Follow the laws of the places they are shown
We don't accept
- Malware, phishing, or deceptive download buttons
- Impersonation of the services we track, or fake “outage” alerts
- Adult content, hate, violence, weapons or illegal products
- Gambling, get-rich-quick, or misleading financial and health claims
Questions
When will my ad go live?
After your first top-up, your campaign is submitted for review. Once approved it starts right away, or on the start date you chose. We email you when it's approved — or if anything needs changing.
How is a viewable impression counted?
An impression counts only when at least half of the ad is visible on screen for at least one continuous second in an active browser tab. Known bots and automated traffic are excluded.
Can I pause or edit my campaign?
Yes. Pause and resume at any time. Budget, bid, targeting and end-date changes apply immediately; changes to the ad itself go through a quick re-review.
What happens to unused credit?
It stays in your Ads wallet and can be used by any of your future campaigns. Campaigns never spend more than their budget or your available credit.
Do I need a business account?
Yes. Self-serve advertising is available to Status Is Down business accounts only. Signed in with a personal account? Create a business account to start. Business accounts see “Advertising” in their account dashboard automatically.
